Welcome to the Forest

I am really enjoying getting back into stitching.  I do go off and do other crafts but I always come back to my stitching.  After finishing my Farmhouse Christmas I have picked up my Welcome to the Forest by Country Cottage Needleworks.  I am making this for my granddaughter, she loves going for a walk in the woods around here.  We are lucky there are a lot of small woods within a short drive from here.

I had stitched the banner piece before put it away.  I’ve almost finished another square, I know Hailey will love this when I have finished it.

Last summer I batch made a load of small stitched pieces into ornaments.  I found some old photos of them after I had stitched them into small pillow ornaments and stuffed them.  They were waiting to have the opening stitched closed and the cording put around the edges.

The snow one finished,  my son Jack had that one and a few more for his tree.

I also made a few Christmas cushions.  It was nice to see the stitched pieces turned into some things.  I still have loads that are just sitting there waiting to be framed or turned into something.

We are lucky living on the coast as it means we have lovely places to walk on our daily walks during the lockdown.

Lots of cliff top walks.  I have noticed on sunny days the sky is so much bluer then it used to be.  I’ll take some photos when the sun is shining and post them.

Well that’s all for now

Lockdown stitching.

It’s been a long time since I did any stitching.  I have been making bags and I have done some quilting.  Since we have been in lockdown I have started stitching again.  I have so many WIP I am going to try and finish some.  Although I have not been stitching I have still been getting more patterns.  I have the new Little House Needlework’s Kringle chart but I’m trying not to start it until I have finished a few thing.  I had stitched the first two squares on the Little House Needleworks Farmhouse Christmas and that was the first WIP I decided to finish and I’m so pleased it’s finally stitched.

Not sure how I’m going to finish it yet.  Maybe a wall hanging.
Next one I’m going to finish will be Country Cottage’s Welcome to the Forest.  I have only stitched the top banner and I want to finish it for my granddaughter.

I also found these ornament finishes on an unpublished post.  I’ve already made them into ornaments and they were on my tree this year.  They are packed away so I cannot show them, I may not have stitched for a while but I did make a lot of stitched pieces into ornaments last year.  I don’t think I have any photo’s but I’ll have  a look.

I’ll show some photo’s of some of the other things I have been making.  This is a bag I made from my youngest son’s girlfriend for her birthday.

She is Harry Potter mad so I made this for her to use at university.  The Harry Potter fabric makes two pockets on each side of the bag.

A zipped top to keep everything in.

Inside it has a zipped pocket on one side and the other side I put a pocket for a notebook, her phone and some pens.  Plenty of room for other thing as well including her MacBook.

It's so hot

It's been very hot for weeks,  no rain at all.  I know a lot of people like the hot weather but unfortunately I'm not one of them.   Spring and Autumn are my favourite seasons.  It's been to hot to stich some days and they say next week is going to be even hotter.

I have stitched a couple of ornaments

Oh Christmas Tree by Little House Needleworks.

Be Merry by Country Cottage Needleworks

Christmas Birdhouse by Country Cottage Needleworks

I also stitched a bit more on my Mirabilia's Bewitching Pixie Ana.

I love these pixies and must try and finish this one soon, I have loads more of them to do.

Busy time

It's been a busy month with Mothers day and Easter.   All three of my boys, my DIL and my beautiful Granddaughter came on Mothers day.  It was lovely all being together.  We had a lovely day out at Walmer castle having an Easter Egg hunt with DS1,  DIL and granddaughter.  Luckily the weather was nice dispite it trying to rain.  The next day we went to visit the boys at university for hot cross buns and drinks.

I've been making some dolls clothes for my granddaughters baby Annabelle, as well as stitching and making ornaments.

Well even more time has gone by.  Since I started writing this post a few more weeks have gone by.  Another family celebration DS2 had his 21st birthday.  I cannot believe he is 21 and about to start his final year exams at university.

I was going to post this photo of my Gingerbread Village

But now it looks like this.

A row and a half more finished.  I guess maybe I should have unrolled it to take the photo but never mind only two more houses to go, also the snowflakes on the top row.   I did not stitch them before starting the second row, guess I was feeling a bit lazy.

A few more finished ornaments.

Little House Needleworks Tree Farm

Little House Needleworks Cardinal Winter

Sanman Originals Winter Wonderland

Sanman Originals Snow Flake

Homespun Elegance, I think this one is called Stitcher wish list.

I feel bad, I cannot remember who this one is designed by or what it is called but I do remember it came as a kit in a small tin.

We'll I had better get this posted before time gets away from me again.

Merry Merry

Another small finish, Merry Merry by Country Cottage Needleworks.

I cannot get a good picture I tried taking it outside but it still does not show the fabric the correct colour, it is a pale green fabric.  I really must find some time and make up some of the ornament I have stitched.  Two of my boys will be back at university in a couple of weeks so I should have plenty of time to make some up then.  Not looking forward to them going it will be so quiet here without them.  Jack will be in his third year and Tom starting his first year.

I have also been stitching away on my Siren

She is stitching up quickly, cannot wait to finish her.  Just going to finish up a few bits then settle down for an evening of stitching on her.

Happy stitching

Fa La La, a bag and an old WIP

Another small finish, this one from Country Cottage Needleworks.

another cute ornament from their ornament collection
Here is a bag I made, it's great for a day out, lots of room for bits and pieces.

and pockets to put things in.

I think this is one of my favourite bags, well until the next bag.  LOL

I have also dug out The Winter Queen.  I started her so many years ago and must finish her.    I do love this design but I think all the blues is why I keep putting her away.  This time I will stitch on her for at east a few hour a week.  I'll keep you updated.
