Gone wrong big time

I was busily working on my Heirloom Sampler, doing the wrapped bars with dove's eyes.  I just worked from the diagram and thought it was not perfect but O K.   When I had finished the hearts I looked at the picture on the cover of the chart and realised that I should have pulled the wrapped bars tightly.  I cannot believe I have made such a mistake.   Not something I can really correct as I could damage the fabric by frogging the stitches.  It does look alright, better in RL then the picture as I used my phone to take it.  Now I have to decide if I will do the other dove's eye stitches the same of do the properly.

Think I will go back to the LK Christmas for a bit.  : (

It does look good from what I see.
Don't put yourself or you stitching down on this piece. This is your learning piece and it is beautiful!

Hi Sue. I've just found your blog and your work is beautiful. My mum is working on this piece of stitching too. It looks fine to me.

Hi Sue, the instructions that I had from the cyber class stated to wrap the bars however many times as you wanted. The key was to be consistent with the number of wraps on each bar. They can be loose or tight. The more wraps will make the bars bend a bit and make them look a bit more lacey, but fewer wraps are still nice because the bars will stay straight. It is all about personal preference and there is no right or wrong way. When I finished wrapping my bars I thought I wrapped them too tight haha. I think your's look great and I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Thanks everyone for your positive comments. Karen thanks for letting me know you can do it either way. I will finish it as I started it.

Sue, thank you for the help with the SanMan message board! I'm able to access it successfully now.

I really think your hardanger piece is beautiful! Much better than I would expect a learning piece to be! I wouldn't hesitate to show it off.
