She's finished

I've had a busy weekend.   All my boys came this weekend as well as my daughter in Law and my beautiful Granddaughter.   It was my birthday on Sunday.  I had a wonderful birthday and the best bit was having all my boys here together.

Anyway back to stitching and here is my finished Siren and the Shipwreck.

I just need to get her framed and then she can join the other two mermaids already on the wall.

I'm going to start the new Lizzie Kate Christmas mystery sampler but I also want to stitch all the Country Cottage Needleworks Gingerbread Village.  I'll stitch them altogether and make a wall hanging.  I'm going to start the Lizzie Kate one tonight.  I really want to get this one finished for Christmas.

Beading started and Wingham Wildlife Centre

Was going to post on Friday but my youngest came home from university for a short visit.  It was so nice to see him, he did not let us know just surprised us.

Here is my Siren and the Shipwreck waiting for her beads and treasures.  This is the photo I was going to post on Friday.

I have started the beading, not my favourite part of the Mirabilia charts but it will be worth it once they are all on.

Hopefully the beading won't take long and I can start on my Lizzie Kate Christmas mystery SAL.

On Monday I went to Wingham Wildlife Centre with my son, daughter in law and granddaughter.   It was a lovely day.  It has changed so much  since I last went.  It was just Wingham Bird Park then.

Hailey watching the penguins.

James, Hailey and Kirsty feeding the fish.

Hailey and the crocodile,  they have a few of these photo boards.

I took some photos of the big cats, I tried to blur out the fences but you can still see them a bit.

They also have a Dinosaur area, lots of animated dinosaurs and even a sand pit where children can pretend to dig up dinosaur bones.

Almost there. ....

Almost finished the stitching and then I'll start the beading and back stitching.

I just need to finish the chandelier and a few of the streamer type things,  cannot remember what they are called.  They are further down her tail.  I'm not a great fan of stitching beads but they are worth it.

I have the new Lizzie Kate Christmas mystery SAL,  I'll probably start that next.  Mind you it will take me a while to add all the beads and treasures.

Empty nest

My youngest is now at university with his brother.  They are both studying Computer Science at the University of Kent.   I should have more stitching time but it is hard trying to settle down to stitch at the moment.   I have done some but not a lot.  I'm sure I'll get used to them being away.

Here is what I have managed to stitch on my Siren.

I did make my Granddaughter's Christmas card.  It's not stitched,  I made it using my Cricut machine.

I love it and I know Hailey will as well.

Merry Merry

Another small finish, Merry Merry by Country Cottage Needleworks.

I cannot get a good picture I tried taking it outside but it still does not show the fabric the correct colour, it is a pale green fabric.  I really must find some time and make up some of the ornament I have stitched.  Two of my boys will be back at university in a couple of weeks so I should have plenty of time to make some up then.  Not looking forward to them going it will be so quiet here without them.  Jack will be in his third year and Tom starting his first year.

I have also been stitching away on my Siren

She is stitching up quickly, cannot wait to finish her.  Just going to finish up a few bits then settle down for an evening of stitching on her.

Bank Holiday Stitching

I'm so pleased with the stitching I managed to do over the bank holiday weekend.   I have also kitted up another ornament so will stitch that this week as well as a bit more on my Mirabilia Siren and the Shipwreck.

Here is a photo of my Siren so far.

I cannot wait to finish her, she will look lovely on the wall with the two other Mirabilia mermaids I have finished.  They are The Mermaid Queen and Mermaid of the Pearls.

Snow Place Like home

Not a lot of stitching lately,  I've been repainting our front room.  All decorated now and furniture back in place so I can get back to normal now.

I did stitch one of the Country Cottage Needleworks Snow Place Like Home charts, Snow Place 1.

I also stitched a bit more on my Siren and the Shipwreck

I'm going to spend the bank holiday working on the Siren, I'll post an update next week.  It will be nice to be able to spend some time just stitching.

ABC and a Siren

I have a small finish,   Little  House  Needleworks  ABC sampler ornament.

This was a lovely quick stitch and I will make it into a pillow ornament.   I like the idea of putting them all into a bowl or something similar to display  them.

I have also started The Siren and the Shipwreck,  thus will be my main stitch with smaller ornaments along side it.

Here us the start of my  mermaid.

I was supposed to be going to Wildwood today with my granddaughter but it is tipping it down,   the rain has not stopped all morning.  Looks like we will have to go next week.  The weather is more like late autumn no sign of summer here at the moment.

She's finished...

I have finally finished Mirabilia's Winter Queen.  I cannot believe I put her aside for so many years.  I have the Spring, Summer and Autumn ones as well to do but they will have to wait.

She is more beautiful in real life then she looks in the photo.  The beads took forever but so worth the effort.

Not sure if I'm going to start Mirabilia's Siren and the Shipwreck or Snow Queen next.  They are both calling me to start them.

Beading the Winter Queen

I have finally finished stitching Mirabilia's Winter Queen and for the last three days I have been adding the beads.  Hopefully it will not be long until I have finished adding the rest of the beads and the back stitching.

Sorry about the photo it's a bit dark.

There are so many beads but she will be so beautiful when I have finished adding them.

I have decided to stitch another one of the Mirabilia mermaids when the Winter Queen is finished,   probably  the Siren and the Shipwreck.  I do love Nora's mermaids.

Christmas Cheer and some blankets.

Another Christmas ornament stitched, added to my pile of stitching waiting to be turned into a finished ornament.  I really must spend some time actually finishing them.

This one is Christmas Cheer by Country Cottage Needleworks.

It was such a fun stitch.

A small amount of stitching on my Winter Queen. I will finish her this year.

I have made a lot of croched blankets over the past year and a bit, here are a few of them.

My favourite one is the Canal Boat Rose one.

I'm half way through knitting a blanket, it's made from squares using different knitted stitches.  It's way too hot to knit at the moment so it will have to wait to be finished.

Fa La La, a bag and an old WIP

Another small finish, this one from Country Cottage Needleworks.

another cute ornament from their ornament collection
Here is a bag I made, it's great for a day out, lots of room for bits and pieces.

and pockets to put things in.

I think this is one of my favourite bags, well until the next bag.  LOL

I have also dug out The Winter Queen.  I started her so many years ago and must finish her.    I do love this design but I think all the blues is why I keep putting her away.  This time I will stitch on her for at east a few hour a week.  I'll keep you updated.

I'm back

I cannot believe its been almost three years since I last posted on here.  So much has happened.  DS2 will start his third year at university in September, DS3 will join him for his first year and best of all DS1 and his wife had a beautiful baby girl and she is now 17 months old

Hailey loves bubbles

Last week I was looking over the blog and saw that in my last post I had almost finished Six Fat Men by Lizzie Kate.  Well it was still in the cupboard, unfinished so I dug it out and finally finished it.

Here it is complete with snowflake buttons

Must have this made into a hanging ready for this Christmas.

I also stitched a couple of ornaments over the weekend

Old Colonial by Little House Needleworks

and

Christmas Cookies by Country Cottage Needleworks

I have a pile of stitched pieces that need making into ornaments,  I really must make them before Christmas.

I have been crafting while I've been away.  I will show you some of the things I have been doing in future posts.  I have made bags, cards and done a ton of scrapbooking.  I have a Cricut Air machine and I love it.

Happy crating
